Tourette Syndrome Awareness Month

The Chapter's Education and Outreach Committee had a busy Tourette Syndrome Awareness Month, which runs from May 15 - June 15.  Here are some of the projects we completed.

Bookmark Giveaway
The Chapter redesigned its bookmark with basic information about Tourette Syndrome and Chapter contact information.  Design, printing, and paper were all donated. These bookmarks were distributed through Barnes & Noble and the New York City public library branch system.

Actor Eli Wallach Helps Out
The Chapter also rewrote and produced its public service announcement that aired on more than a dozen local radio stations during Awareness Month.  Actor Eli Wallach generously voiced these announcements for us.  Some of the stations that are running the announcement are WINS, WJWR, WOR, WWRL, WNEW, and WAXQ.  Several stations continue to air the PSA all year round. And several stations that do not air pre-recorded PSAs are having their announcers read versions of our PSA.

Web Banner
The Chapter designed a web banner that has been placed on several websites. The banner directs people to our website.

Informational Email
The New York City Health Department sent an informational email about Tourette Syndrome to its 500 or so employees. The Chapter also sent an informational email to its members, asking them to pass it on and help raise awareness.
