The mission of the New York City Chapter of the Tourette Syndrome Association is:

  • to promote a greater awareness and understanding of Tourette Syndrome; 
  • to promote the general welfare of people with Tourette Syndrome at home, at work, in the community and in schools;
  • to provide support services to people with Tourette Syndrome and to their families;
  • to provide opportunities for people with Tourette Syndrome and their families to meet and exchange ideas, through symposiums, workshops and social events;
  • and to promote advocacy for the Tourette Syndrome patient and family.

VOLUNTEERS

Education & Outreach: This committee coordinates activities for Tourette Syndrome Awareness Month each spring. This committee is also responsible for reaching out to educators, politicians, and health care providers.


Young Adult: The purpose of this committee is to raise awareness among people in their twenties and thirties both inside and outside the Tourette community. This Committee is limited to individuals between the ages of 18 and 39. To contact the chairperson of this committee directly, please click here: Young Adult Committee


Member Services: This committee is responsible for making sure our members get the services they want and need.

Fundraising: This committee organizes our annual Spring Benefit, usually a gala dinner with musical entertainment, and our direct mail campaign each winter. In the future, this committee needs to apply for grants and to approach service groups.


Communications: This committee edits our newsletter and website and directs public relations.
